Eligibility for Special Education

Children from birth to 21 years of age and who have a disability that affects their learning may be eligible for special education services and supports. A parent or teacher can request that a child be evaluated to see whether the child has an educational disability. Parents must be informed and give their consent before an evaluation takes place.

To find out more about the evaluation process, read the article on Special Education Evaluation.
