Kathleen is a 5-year-old girl with a rare syndrome that causes delays in her ability to speak and to walk. Kathleen uses a communication board during snack time in her school. With her picture communication board she is able to tell her teacher such things as, "I want more," "this tastes good," and "I'm all done." But this is just a start. Kathleen will have many communication boards for all parts of her day in school, such as in art class, music class, and recess.
